"Glass Ceilins EP" Out Now!!
I am a "Rap Artist" & "Video Producer" from Columbus, Ohio.
My all around passion is Music! When I wake up in the morning the first thing I think doing is checking my online views for a video or song i posted online the night before, editing some footage for a video or recording aA song in my home studio. My goal everyday is to do something productive in my music career, Period!
I began rapping at the age of 12, only writing multiple songs and rapping at Local Open Mics. I recorded my first song at age 14 and started battle rapping at age 15 to gain more exposure for myself. I began gaining money from "Open Mic Contest" and then using that money to go to the studio by myself at the age of 15 - 16.
At 16 years old, older my brother was shot & killed which made me want to take music more serious and I began to record more & more songs, eventually forming my first mix tape, "Hood Swagga" at age 17.
I released several more mix tapes over the next 3 years to build my buzz around my city, entered Music contest like "Wild Out Wednesday" to try and make my break into the industry. At 19 I happened to meet a person who got me into doing local shows around the city and started performing in front of new crowds. Doing really built a strong name for myself in a short amount of time as well as putting my music online to have a place for people to hear me. I focused on shows a lot in 2009 and early 2010, before putting that energy back into the studio to work on a new mix tape. Unfortunately, I was not able to release the mix tape after recording most of the songs for it.
On June 13, 2010, I was shot 6 times and was unable to release my new music I was working on & unable to perform after this near death experience. Still I was determined to push my music. Less than a month after this incident, and 2 days out of the hospital, I shot 2 videos. One video was for a song I had wrote while in the hospital and the other video for a song previously recorded before my shooting incident. Both videos have gotten thousands of views, one reaching 10,000 views. After these videos were released I took time to recover and just pushed music online from home & hospitals during recovery, and finally released the mix tape I had worked on previous to being shot.
In the end of 2011, I finally decided to devote my time back to music. I had been working on new music as well as building my brand, which I had never done before. I formed my own team: "Top 9: Money Plane" and my own video production company, "Money Plane Vizion". I felt that I needed to take a new direction that was better than just releasing music in the streets & online without a plan. I released 3 videos for 3 singles in 2011 before releasing a new mix tape titled: "The Last Offering" on February 9th, 2012 on, "LiveMixtapes.com" Hosted by a Dayton Dj, DJ E-Dub. The mix tape went onto become my biggest release with over 60, 000 plays to date.
Besides from releasing music I shot multiple music videos to songs I felt needed exposure to a broader audience. I also focused on doing bigger things with my music and building relationships with new people & artists. I started shooting music videos for a lot of different artists in my city as well as artists from outside of Ohio including: Frenchie 1017 ( from Waka Flocka's "Brick Squad" camp who also made an appearance in the video) and 3 videos Dylan (from Making The Band) while all 4 of these videos made it on to "World Star Hip Hop".
In 2012, I was nominated at the "2012 Ohio Hip Hop Awards" along side many other artists for my participation in the "Columbus Riot". I also was featured on the "Ohio Hip Hop Awards Blog" & on a website of the founder of the Ohio Hip Hop Awards, "Big Heff". In mid 2012 I was featured in a magazine titled, "Streetz Illustrated" that did a full spread on me and my new mix tape at the time "The Last Offering". I accomplished a lot in 2012 that I had never accomplished before and a lot of my work was being recognized, even though I had only released 1 mix tape that year. I released several videos in 2012 off my mix tape "The Last Offering" before preparing to release my new mix tape: D.O.L.O. I shot a video in "Atlanta, GA" to promote my new mix tape as well as doing a show there. I released my new mix tape DOLO on "September 19th", 2012 in the streets only and in a Local Music Shop in my city Columbus, Ohio. I've shot & released 3 videos so far from that mix tape.
Going into 2013 I was so happy with my fans & supporters for supporting my new music & videos that I wanted to release something special for them. I released my first mix tape online in nearly a year titled: "Reality Check" on 3 websites: Datpiff.com, My2196.com & TweetMyMixtape.com. The mix tape only consists of 8 songs but I wanted to give my supporters a different side of me & something different than I had ever released before.
