Advocates say Indigenous voices are missing amidst claims UNSW guidelines are 'whitewashing' history by Mohamed Taha

A University of New South Wales teaching guide has reignited the history wars that have divided many for decades. The university suggests that references to Australia being "settled" should instead be replaced with "invaded" and that it's offensive to say Captain Cook "discovered" Australia. Commercial radio hosts and shock-jocks have described it as a "whitewash" and re-writing of Australian history. But social justice advocates say the real problem is a lack of Indigenous voices in the debate.
