Mohamad Zatari محمد زعتري

Mohamad Zatari (in Arabic محمد زعتري) is an Aleppian oud performer and composer, currently based in Bucharest, Romania. Born on the 13th of January 1987, Zatari has been delving into the deep essence of traditional Syrian, Iraqi, Egyptian and Turkish music. He has completed a bachelor in classical composition at the National University in Bucharest, aiming to melt boundaries that are set between the traditional and the contemporary.

Meeting and collaborating with musicians from different backgrounds and parts of the world, as well as being exposed to enriching atmospheres helped him in changing stereotypes and many misconceptions through music.
Many of his compositions were used for short films, different visuals, as well as educational materials.
In 2019, Zatari founded his own trio group with Avadhut Kasinadhuni from India and Sara Eslami from Iran. Since then, the trio has participated in several festivals such as the Outernational Virtual Festival in Vaslui county and INVSBL.
