Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, a city with a diverse underground scene, DJ/Promoter Mo Ichi established her roots in techno, progressive, house and electro. She has been uniting dance floors for over 17 years after finding a common musical platform that fuses these genres.
Upon arriving in Melbourne in 2003, Mo Ichi has supported plenty of talent including Randomer, Adriana Lopez, Thomas Schumacher, D-Nox & Beckers, Mathew Jonson, DJ T, Audiofly, Martinez, Mr C, Ripperton, King Unique, Lee Burridge, Herman Cattaneo, Monolake, Carl Cox and Stephan Bodzin.
She ran the night Pitch(b):tch @ LOOP for over 9 years and Kitch’n’Sync at Republica in collaboration with DJ Miyagi.
Locally she has held residencies at SUNNY, Bimbo Deluxe and Revolver. Mo Ichi has played with some of Melbourne's underground elite at RUBIX, Brown Alley, Instynct Events, Black Market, Kontrast, My Aeon, F4, Miss Libertine, Semi-Retired, Ladyfest Melbourne, ROXY, Meccanoid, F.L.I.R.T., Midsumma, Lectro, More Bass, DXM Almost Human, The Royal Melbourne Hotel, The Palace, Honkytonks, Section 8 and The Prince of Wales.
The passed few years have had many highlights which include gigs at Folk/Rhythm/Life Festival 2008-16, Rainbow Serpent Festival Market Lu’Au 2008-2015, Earthdance 2008, Minimal Tokyo @ Soft 2006/07 (Tokyo), SUNNY's 10th birthday party, Midsumma Festival, Sunshine People NYD 2007 boat cruise and Earthcore Launch Party 2006. She has made guest appearances on the Kinetik Frequencies Radio Show (straightup.com), JOY FM, KISS FM, Mix Industry FM and Triple J's "Mix Up”.
Remaining true to the underground movement and with her commitment to vinyl preservation, she promotes the music that not only inspires her, but helps to shape her as a creative individual.
