So what is Mixed In Sheffield?
Our aim is to SHOUT about the creativity coming out of the city to its own population and to the world. We want to support it, spread it, nurture it and watch it grow.
MiS was primarily about electronic music when it began 6 years ago. Since then it has grown to encompass the whole spectrum of music and art from this industrious, inventive city. We love people and organisations who made and do things, especially within art music and technology.
We are a recording label, studio, events organization, a connector and a news resource. The label, in association with the cream of Sheffield talent provides a FREE music remix album downloads. 2011’s “Now + Again”contains 44 remixes of Sheffield bands BY Sheffield Electronic producers (Todda T, Matt Helders from The Arctic Monkeys, Heaven 17, Shake Aletti and Steve Edwards to name but a few). 2012's Crossing the line was a project where we gathered 39 bands, got them remixed by 39 Sheffield electronic producers and had a piece of 12" cover art for each piece designed by a Sheffield creative.
