In this piece, the difference between ordinary speakers and one designed for music is phenomenal. 2013-03-09T10:11:22Z Comment by Phuture Hi Def This reminds me of some of the tracks that Gorillaz did when making plastic beach, NICE WORK on this! 2013-01-27T22:41:59Z Comment by Miranda Driessen @coolwindmusic: Thanks for your comment Chris. Die Entscheidung was premièred last sunday by the Utrechts Wind Ensemble conducted by Jussi Jaatinen. Although they are a student-ensemble I think they did a wonderful job being really involved and dedicated to the music. The piece was inspired by Schubert's Der Doppelgänger and Wim Wenders' film 'Der Himmel über Berlin'. The decision has to do with the moment one is able to accept life as it is, which of course is not always an easy one, but very important to be able to move onwards. Although I consider music as a purely abstract art-from I believe that the intention with which a piece has been made is always audible although it may be difficult to articulate this in words. The medieval piece is a 9th century graduale taken from the Sankt-Gallen manuscript. Our choir-master Geert Maessen developed a notation to sing from the original neumes. The improvisation is played by violinist James Hewitt. So what you hear is not an arrangement, but a recording I made from Ensemble Virga in which I sing as a soloist.
