So when there are more than 10/20/100 confirmations, they will not accept another chain that has mkre than 10/20/100 blocks different? So you have a guarantee that nibidy mines in secret for more than 10/20/100 blocks? 2014-05-23T13:27:58Z Comment by utunga host's rant about user created assets starts here 2014-04-29T03:30:50Z Comment by The Cypherfunks Fantastic discussion. Thanks guys! 2014-04-27T10:33:27Z Comment by DoPlJoe So to summarize: Merge mining is less overhead than seperate coins even for individuals. Sidechains are isolated from bitcoin and failures do not affect bitcoin itself. Also given a better security model than standard bitcoin merge-mined POW there are no downsides to sidechains. So again, side-chains has all the advantages compared to shady small alt-coins. Can someone explain what point Peter Todd was actually trying to make, because he only speculated on deficiancies in POW in general and his belief that those aren't solveable. Also sidechains supposedly don't need to be merge mined and can even be POS, meaning they can even be less centralized than bitcoin itself, which makes P. Todds whole argument moot. 2014-04-27T09:00:43Z Comment by Speaking of Bitcoin (formerly Let's Talk Bitcoin!) @steve-britt: You're welcome. 2014-04-27T04:56:06Z Comment by Speaking of Bitcoin (formerly Let's Talk Bitcoin!) @jimmy-canning-1: Context and Brevity don't usually go together when I speak, but ideas like this infect perhaps 1% of our listeners and change the way they think. I appreciate the patience of those like you in the 99% for whom its just too much. 2014-04-27T04:55:18Z Comment by Steven Andrew Britt I would appreciate a whole show on how to contribute to the LTB network 2014-04-27T01:46:11Z Comment by Steven Andrew Britt Thank you for taking time to explain your vision Adam 2014-04-27T01:45:32Z Comment by bitedge This dude comes across as very self important 2014-04-27T01:27:25Z Comment by bitedge Too long monologue by host is too long 2014-04-27T01:14:41Z Comment by Speaking of Bitcoin (formerly Let's Talk Bitcoin!)
