GUIDED MEDITATIONS FOR WRITERS & THE MINDFULNESS FOR WRITERS PODCAST
I’m a critically acclaimed author, writing coach, and certified meditation instructor. This is where my guided meditations for writers (or anyone!) live, as well as the Mindfulness for Writers podcast.
I riff on the intersection of mindfulness, meditation, and writing. I dig into how we can use the tools of meditation and mindfulness to enhance our creative process, navigate the shitstorm crazy that is publishing, and live our lives as artists from a creative and soulful place.

My meditation story:
After decades of spiritual searching, I finally sat my ass on a cushion and started meditating, even though I was pretty sure I couldn’t do it. I’d been living in a creative wasteland, exhausted by my rigorous publishing schedule and disappointed with what the real life of a full-time author is like. The stress of trying to get my books noticed once they were on the shelves, the sudden importance of maintaining a public persona through social media, and the pressure to produce more in order to keep food on the table decimated me: I felt invisible and alone–and really ungrateful, because I knew how blessed I was to have my work published in the first place. I was at an all-time low and medication wasn’t helping.
Enter meditation. I don’t know, friends, all I can say is that this practice saved me. It brought me home to myself. I quickly began to see the connections between my creative life and what was happening on the cushion. I can think of no better practice for a writer than mindfulness and meditation. From how it can increase flow to the ways in which it allows for more expansiveness within you, to all the tools it gives you to withstand the struggles of the creative life, meditation and mindful living is, well, the shit.
I love the writers I work with and want, more than anything, to see them inspired, fulfilled, and awake to this one wild and precious life they’ve got. I want to see you have these things, too. So welcome. Take a seat. Stay awhile. If you’re just getting started on the blog, I recommend checking out my post Can Meditation and Mindfulness Help Your Creativity? It’s a good intro to what being a mindful writer might look like for you.
Breathe. Write. Repeat.
