Cutsubech by Mike Quinn, Jr. published on 2012-02-11T03:58:47Z Cutsubech is the first thing I ever made on my first computer in 1998. It had a pretty sweet 266mHz Pentium II processor and came with WIndows 98 which had the no frills Sound Recorder application. Knowing absolutely nothing about anything, I recorded a few noises with the computer microphone and mixed it with a few samples from various CDs and video clips. If you're not familiar with Sound Recorder, it was the digital equivalent of an analog tape deck. Besides speed adjustment, the only other feature was the ability to layer clips with a "mix edit" or do an "insert edit." Though basic, I was so excited to not have to ping-pong clips back and forth from tape to tape anymore, but wIth out the ability to stop the playhead where you wanted it, I still had to time it in my head when and where I wanted to mix in clips.
