Jon Rose - playing a Wreck by Mikeoni published on 2013/01/15 09:01:19 +0000 Australian violinist, Jon Rose, has had a remarkable career spanning over 40 years. Last year he was recognized for his innovation with the prestigious Don Banks lifetime achievement prize. He’s widely known for his ‘Great Fences’ project where he amplifies metal fencing in the outback and then bows it like a giant violin. It was while he was doing this that he came across many deserted cars, turned wrecks. For the Sydney Festival this year he’s brought back one of those wrecks and is playing it along with two other musicians at Carriageworks. I spoke to Jon in between performances.
