Portlaoise Mourns the Loss of Councillor and Activist Kathleen O'Brien by Midlands 103

In a segment featured on Midlands Today; Cathaoirleach of Laois County Council, Tom Mulhall speaks with Michael Brophy about the loss of Kathleen O’Brien. She passed away today in her late 60’s following a long illness.

O’Brien campaigned for services in Portlaoise throughout the years especially in Portlaoise Hospital, Mr Mulhall said “Over a number of years Kathleen took a huge interest in the town”.

From 2009-2014 she was a very active councillor, chair of Portlaoise hospital action group, and a hard worker with the Tidy Towns.

She truly leaves behind a legacy of fighting the corner of Portlaoise, may she rest in peace.
