Michael Varenbut Michael Varenbut Toronto Michael Varenbut has worked for years in the healthcare sector. He recently graduated from Ivey Business School at Western University where he earned his MBA. He is currently serving on the board of directors at LiquiMedLock Inc., a medical compliance packaging company. Through his work, Michael Varenbut envisioned building clinics that would not only treat opioid addiction, but also other substance dependencies and co-morbid conditions such as hepatitis and HIV. Throughout his work, he saw a growing push for healthcare companies and businesses to include social responsibility into their missions and wanted to be a part of this push. This was, in part, a catalyst behind Michael Varenbut’s decision to pursue business endeavors in a more official capacity and return to school, this time to study business. In 2018, he graduated with distinction from Ivey Business School with his Master in Business Administration. Now, Michael wants to combine his experience in healthcare with his business knowledge and training to be able to create healthcare companies that combine both business and healthcare to create medical entities with a strong social purpose and social responsibility to benefit the public at large, alongside those with difficult-to-treat conditions. Michael Varenbut is currently serving on the board of directors at LiquiMedLock Inc., a medical compliance company based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada since March of 2018. LiquiMedLock Inc. was founded in 2000 with the purpose of creating product packaging to help both the public and individuals ensure their safety. A small company with only about 10 employees, they provide tamper-evident and child-resistant packaging for medications and are looking to launch a solution for the cannabis space, ensuring it is sold in similar packaging. When it comes to business, Michael Varenbut is excited about the ability to create something from nothing. He likes creating new and innovative entities and projects, helping to actualize something that had not previously existed. Part of business is also finding new ways to do things or fixing processes so that they work better. Looking to the future, Michael is hoping to see and be a part of creating world-class entrepreneurial companies with a unified vision of creating world-class, best in practice products and services that have wide social benefits as well. He hopes to see a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility to create products that are recyclable and biodegradable, and he is looking for ways to help businesses focus on the triple bottom line: people, planet, and profits.
