If you have the capacity - a 100 engine simulation can be done in less than 15 minutes. If you want some more detail - say 2000 engine simulations, you can start out at 4000 RPM and run 6 simulations with run time of 15 seconds each and about 4 to 5 minutes to run all the simulations. When your CPU can go doesn't mean you need it to. It means that you have the horsepower. Be realistic about the time your computer can spend in the process of engine simulation. Don't decide to build your next 500 engine on a break the clock machine, and expect it to run in a few minutes. If you are constructing an engine to be remanufactured in the future, the time you devote to the engine design is of paramount importance.
