Maya Petrovna is an operatic 'crossover' mezzo-soprano, film music composer and performance artist, dedicated to creating surrealist musical performances. For her current self-directed operatic 'crossover' live music shows, she composes all music and designs all costumes, creating a different character for each music piece which plays a significant role in stories behind her music. Her noticeable shows "Love songs from the violent paradise', "Futura Monomania" and "Medusa" involved up to 13 scenographic changes.
Her music art performances have been contributing to theatres from Sydney Opera House (for CODA band, Music for the eyes show) to exclusive London Box Soho shows, where her closing live operatic act “Moth’ enjoyed several residencies, including the launch of dial smartwatch for celebrity Will.I.Am. She is the featuring solo performer in video Song of I, directed by Danish filmmaker Lasse Hoile, for Britain's renowned musician Steven Wilson. Her full-length solo show was received with sold-out capacity at the London Looking Glass Cocktail Club, before headlining for few European's historical spots such as, Berlin's Kit Kat, Pazin Castle, Venice, Prague, and few international gatherings such as Rome Film Festival, London Fashion Week, Great Escape and Sarajevo Film Festival.
Maya's credits include singing and composing original orchestral scores for 10 Apple podcast series about film, “Australia”, by an acclaimed film director Baz Luhrmann, spot featuring Annie Leibovitz, a global advertising campaign Tourism Australia for Asia produced by Revolver Film and "Suzie Lovitt" film about young Jude Law's son, produced by Sadie Frost. She has scored music for 28 movies, from art, TV to documentaries, some of which were recorded with Sydney Studio Orchestra and screened on international film festivals. As a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Maya recorded an album with noted violin player Naomi Radom, named Ponyclub Massacre, supporting Hugo Race (former of Nick Cave band), Kaki King and Inga Liljestrom. She did vocals and lyrics for uprising dub step Engine Earz band (UK) and for ambient/industrial album "Blood Debts" by Years of Denial (UK), which was produced by a DJ/producer Jerome Tcherneyan.
