Matty Ladd Matthew Ladd Simmons San Diego Inquiries: Mattyladdbusiness@gmail.com Originally a fine art major, Matty Ladd believes that visual art is creating in space and music is creating in time. Matty Ladd first listened to electronic music at a very young age, sneaking out from his parent’s house to go to events and see his favorite producers. He loves dancing and derives great satisfaction from making partygoers dance too. He started DJing when he moved to Huntington Beach, CA where they would throw house parties and spin for hours on end. Matty Ladd started small, playing local gigs all over his native Orange County. As a kid from the rave scene, his first love was electro. This early taste in dance music is still apparent in his current Tech House sound. Matty Ladd joined San Diego’s United By Bass in 2017. His sets are composed of catchy records with a warm fuzzy groove, heavy hitting basslines, and music that show his curiosity for the darker side of life. The future is looking bright as he acquires a following and approval from all over the world.
