Zelda: The Grand Medley by Marius Masalar published on 2012/11/28 20:59:13 +0000 This one means a lot to me... Not only was The Legend of Zelda a milestone for the industry, but its music and its incredible universe was probably 80% of why I'm now doing what I'm doing. I can't possibly overstate my love for the series, or the scope of its influence. In 2007, I started writing an arrangement of the main theme. Back then, I was working in Finale (the notation program). Before long, I was adding "just one more bar". More than eighty pages and 11 minutes of music later, The Grand Medley was born. While I worked briefly with ZREO Music (http://zreomusic.com) to adapt this medley into the form of the "Open Symphony", I ultimately had to move on with newer projects and the Open Symphony was never fully realized. Nevertheless, The Grand Medley has remained one of my dearest creations, and seeing the unbelievably ridiculous response to the Maybe a Time of Miracles arrangement I posted, I figured it's high time I make this thing available. Keep in mind that this is notation software output, so it sounds decidedly more...um, let's say "retro"...than my newer work. I think that's part of its charm at this point. Please enjoy!
