martinneuhold Martin Neuhold Großkarolinenfeld I've been a musician for almost 30 years. I started as a guitarist, began to write my own songs, formed my first band and so on. A few years ago I was in a situation, where I enjoyed some small and local success and played occasional concerts with singer-songwriter stuff in my native language-bavarian, in the south of Germany, were the oktoberfest is. So far so good, but more and more I got the feeling that I have been on the same road for much too long, it became monotonous and i felt. nothing new, thus it began to bore me. Then came iOS. I bought an used 3rd generation iPod touch and someone told me that it was possible to make music with that device. I started with nanostudio ,the whole thing was so inspiring and music came to me. I was able to go in a direction i always liked but never made myself: Electronic stuff in the tradition of Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre and people like that. At the beginning of this year I tried something else... Peter Gabriels "Passion" was always a record I loved very much. So I tried to integrate world music samples into my tracks and well...it worked. So that's where I am today, I've just released my first E.P. on bandcamp (martinneuhold.bandcamp.com if you're interested) , and I'm working on an album in that direction, but I'm not restricted to the ethnic/ambient thing. I'd say my music is an external manifestation of what resounds in my spirit, my inner self if you will. I don't just want to make music that sounds good, I aspire to make my listeners feel good too:) Artists I like went in many different directions (Peter Gabriel, Neil Young) and I want to do that too. I am just curious as to where my road may take me!
