Example 1 by Martin Mitchell published on 2012-07-23T19:42:07Z A String Quartet recorded live in a 400 seat hall. 2 matched AKG C414B-TLs (switched to Figure of Eight) were mounted as a co-incident, crossed pair, set at 90 degrees. This classic Blumlein recording exhibits a high level of positional accuracy and fine detail. ( it would have been even better if the performers had kept still and stopped breathing!) The microphone assembly was positioned 2m in front of the stage and about 1m above the performers. No EQ or processing has been used.
