Cold Start (disquiet0314) by Ambient Rushton published on 2018-01-06T16:22:36Z My daughter got me a new drinking container for Christmas. It's the Contigo SnapSeal Byron Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Travel Mug, 16oz, Gunmetal. It does a good job. That's what I put the ice in. Sample recording was done with my Tascam DR-05 + furry. I loaded the sample into Sound Forge and created 6 different loops with effects: reverb, delay, flange, chorus, stutter, and pitch bend. These loops were loaded into Dropbox and shared into the iOS program Samplr on my iPad. From there I created the, um, 'arrangement' and settings. No additional changes or live improv. I just let Samplr work it's magic. Automatic output to my old Zoom H2. In true Ambient Rushton fashion these days, I made a 2 minute version for the Junto and I'm currently recording out a (probably) 30 minute version for release to the streaming services. That way, those who want to listen to a longer version can keep going. When I'm working at my day job or painting, I like the "flow" of sound to continue on and on. I don't want to keep hitting 'repeat'. If I need to jump off after 25 minutes I can do that. I've been getting into this concept more and more over the years. * Web site: http://www.markrushton.com Follow Mark Rushton at Spotify: http://spotify.markrushton.com Buy Mark Rushton downloads at Bandcamp: https://markrushton.bandcamp.com/ Mailing list: http://mailinglist.markrushton.com/ * More on this 314th weekly Disquiet Junto project (Cold Start: Record the sound of ice in a glass and make something of it) at: https://disquiet.com/0314/ More on the Disquiet Junto at: https://disquiet.com/junto/ Subscribe to project announcements here: http://tinyletter.com/disquiet-junto/ Project discussion takes place on llllllll.co: https://llllllll.co/t/disquiet-junto-project-0314-cold-start/ Genre Ambient Comment by halF unusuaL Nice! 2018-01-08T05:56:21Z
