Mark Doc started his DJ'ing career in September 2004 with monthly hard dance / hard techno night Pandemonium, a night he used to co-promote and resident at with some good friends. Mark is a versatile performer feeling comfortable with a variety of styles, though over the past 18 months or so, he has found his niche in tech-trance.
Over the past four years, Mark has attracted a following across central Scotland playing tech trance, hard dance, hardstyle, techno and has a growing interest in tech-house. He plays all styles with maturity and no little craft. Mark joined Rectify in March 2006 and has proved to be the catalyst in Rectify's rapid rise ever since. He joined at the perfect time, just as Rectify was invited to support Inside Out's east of Scotland venture at the country's largest club, Room At The Top. Ever since, Rectify's rise has been meteoric, this has been mirrored by Mark's progress to one of the most respected and talented resident DJ’s in Scotland.
In his short career, Mark has played for the mighty Inside Out (at both the Arches and Room At The Top) on many occasions, the massive Unifi events, almost every Rectify, Absolute in Edinburgh, Freefall, Infexious, Refresh, Culture and many more. He has also just recently performed at Scotland's newest festival Parklife, where he played on the residents outdoor stage and more significantly, the massive Goodgreef Xtra hard arena, his biggest gig to date. The gigs will keep coming for Mark as he casts his net wider and wider, most recently playing for Goodgreef in Newcastle and their massive NYD party in Leeds. He has played alongside all the big names in tech-trance and hard dance, most notably warming up for the likes of Scot Project, Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage, Kutski, Showtek, Vandall, Energy Dai and many more.
Recently Mark has turned his hand to production aided and abetted by a very talented friend in Andy McGirr (aka Zero3), and so far their efforts have produced two tracks. The first of which R.E.C.T, was played at Parklife in the Goodgreef arena.....Bedlam ensued! The second, Jager Bomb has two awesome remixes from Brian Eddie and DJ Thera!! both of these are signed to Xpressive dark. Their third track, produced along with the unbelievably talented Mark Sherry and James Allan - Fall Out is due for release on CGI music in Febuary 2010.
As the productions flow and with Rectify going monthly at the Soundhaus in November, expect to see a lot more from Mark over the forthcoming months and years. He has recently set up his own mini studio and is hopeful of collaborating with many of Glasgow's other talented young producers. Watch this space.....
