Chasing The Blues by Mark Fitchett

WTF? Seriously?

Here to crush the life out of an ignorant insulting old myth perpetuated by a line in a George Bernard Shaw play is Mark Edward Fitchett, a much respected guitar instructor in the California Southland.

Over the course of 30+ years, he has taught several thousand students, many who have went on to have professional music careers themselves.

Anyone who has heard Fitchett perform live in his two favorite settings, jazz and blues, can attest to the fact that the man not only “can,” but “does,” and does so with the excitement and energy of “an in their 20’s player” (he’s not), and the experience and knowledge of an over 20, umm over 30…never mind, of an older player.

In his own words he says “Teaching over these many years has actually made me a much better musician. This not only caused me to dig deeper into the blues and rock music I grew up with, but also because of my many students different interests I would learn other styles not normally on my radar and ultimately incorporate them into my own bag of tricks.”

On his latest CD release, “Chasing The Blues” Fitchett showcases 12 of his original songs that combine traditional blues styles with a touch of funk, rock ‘n roll, R&B and jazz.
