Marie Borcard Marie Borcard Berlin Marie is a singer songwriter, film and art-video composer. She was born in an area of Switzerland well-known for it's witches and healers, and this ancestral magic colours her world. With hypnotic, rhythmic and soulful compositions, Marie feels the world, singing out what's flowing in and around her. Mixing classical, jazz, soul and capable of both deepness and child sensuality, Marie's voice takes you on a bewitching journey. She is mostly inspired and touched by stories of the women and children around the world, their deep sufferings and path towards resilience. Butterfly, If the moon could talk, Lost Kingdom, Prayer and many other songs have been written at the places where Marie lived or traveled such as Berlin, Brooklyn, Cusco and Bruxelles. She was mentored for years by the world-class producer and bassplayer Fernando Saunders. This collaboration brought her to deepen her music and understand the real meaning of soul in the afro-american context. She appears as a back-vocalist and producer in two of his albums and have her songs Butterfly, Keep smiling co-produced by M. Saunders and his powerful bass lines. She got involved in the visual world by composing the music and performing it live during a super-8 festival. She worked then with her sister and other artists on several video projects and on stage with video-performances. In 2014 she made the music and was the actress in a short-movie, "Morella" with a swiss, french and belgian team. She also composed the music for the OMEGA fancy watches's commercial for the chinese new year, for "in red production". She is currently working on the music and editing a video-clip about child trafficking, and gets ready to finalize her album in the spring.
