Born in 1971 in Peru, Marcos Arrieta is an accomplished author, singer, composer and guitarist. Brought up in Lima, a city where culture, music and dance are omnipresent, Marcos taught himself the drums before discovering the guitar; the instrument through which he can truly express himself. An early passion for hard rock led to a career playing electric guitar in Lima which continued when he moved to Paris in the early 90's and joined the group 'Vulcain' as lead guitarist. Drawn back to his Latin roots, he returned to the acoustic guitar and started to compose. In 2006, the French actress Agnès Jaoui, fell in love with the profound emotions present in Marcos' music and invited him to sing two of his tracks 'Sueno Ideal' and 'Escucha' in duo on her best selling album 'Canta' and accompany her on tour. During this time he met the artistic director, Vincent Segal, with whom he continues to collaborate. Over the years Marcos has played on soundtracks, albums, the radio and various shows including a private concert for Mick Jagger's birthday in 2011. His first album 'Hoja Palida' with David Giacobetti on the bass guitar was released in 2008. A myriad of influences from his diverse career bring beauty, purety and emotion to this Latin American album. The lyrics take the listener to Lima, a story of exile, of love, of insecurity. In 2013, Marcos moved to Nice, and plays regularly on the Riviera. He is currently writing a new album to be released in 2015.
