Groups for track
This group was started by me(welterwill) to get new experimental musicians together and have them give opinion ,ideas, and advice to one another. I was hoping musicians in this group would meet each other and collaborate on music using skype or any messager to send files ,loops, tracks, samples back and forth. That's a good way to create new sounds and original tracks. my skype name is of course "welterwill"
this is your place: show us your bittersweet tunes, lonely citylights-inspired pieces, darkness-treated crooning, winter-fed lyrics.
-from Greek ?????????? - melancholia "sadness, lit. black bile".
-Sehnsucht is a compound word, originating from an ardent longing or yearning (das Sehnen) and addiction (die Sucht). Interestingly, these words do not adequately encapsulate the full meaning of their resulting compound, even when considered together.
- Kaiho means a state of involuntary solitude in which the subject feels incompleteness and yearns for something unattainable or extremely difficult and tedious to attain.
- The famous saudade of the Portuguese is a vague and constant desire for something that does not and probably cannot exist, for something other than the present, a turning towards the past or towards the future; not an active discontent or poignant sadness but an indolent dreaming wistfulness.
For the lovers of music with a deeper purpose
this group is for anyone interested in the music of everyday things, the bumps, clicks, and swooshes of life in general, the mystery contained in the mundane. if you sample, mix, loop, collage, or otherwise make art out of sound, this is the group for you. on the other hand please DO NOT post here if you are making dub, trance, house-type music solely out of electronic samples - that stuff has it's own categories - this group is strictly for forms of sound art that might otherwise be difficult to characterize.
Original experimental instrumental
with electronic influences, or
just raw instrumentation of
any sort; lightly moderated
GROUP DEDICATED TO AMBIENT MUSICIANS
Hi, this is Drone. We like our music in the form of "longish audio tracks with relatively slight harmonic variations throughout each piece as compared to other musics".1 We also like to hear some soundscape, music concrète, minimal/microsound, non-chill ambient and even a bit of the old noise.
Generally this involves little to no "beat" - this isn't to say that we will not tolerate any rhythmic character whatsoever, because quite often a subtle or well placed beat can do a lot to accentuate a drone piece. Essentially: if the beat is the primary focus of your track (something you can dance to) we don't want it in Drone and will remove it.
If you have questions, please ask in discussions. If you want to find out more about drone, come on in.
Please contribute an example of a song you listen to, the scenario, and what you feel during.
Artist/Song: Royksopp ~ You Don't Have A Clue
Scenario: Listening while driving home from college for winter break.
Feeling: Infinite. Eager to get home but enjoying the ride, and I am imagining hanging out with my friends just laughing and enjoying each other's company in a warm living room.
Any song will do. Just share with sincerity.
With much love,
