Let me introduce you to a small little mouse
He’s tiny and he’s fast and he lives in my house
There’s a cat who is happy, likes to chase that mouse

Well the cat is big, bigger than the mouse
And the cat wants to protect its house
What’s going to happen to the big cat and the little mouse?

Run run run little mouse,
Run run run through the house
Run faster than the cat little mouse,

Oh the mouse is quiet, he makes no sound
And when he’s runs, it’s easy for him to sneak around
And he stays in front because he’s faster than that cat

Well the cat is sad that he can’t catch the mouse
He needs an easier idea than running around
It won’t be easy to trick that difficult mouse

But the cat uses art to help himself out
He paints a picture of cheese on the outside of the house
It looks so nice to the mouse, the mouse wants it all

It’s the biggest piece of cheese the mouse has ever seen
it will feed this mouse for many weeks
The mouse can’t resist, he runs outside for the cheese

Oh no, poor little mouse
Don’t go poor little mouse
Oh no poor little mouse
Don’t go outside the house

And when the mouse goes to bite the cheese
He’s sad to find the that it is not real to eat
But it’s too late for the mouse to come back inside you see,

And now the mouse is outside of the house to stay
The cat has hammered closed the door to keep the mouse away
Oh what a clever cat I have

Well the cat is smarter than the mouse for sure
He figured out how to chase the mouse out the door
But now without the mouse to chase around, the cat is bored

I wish the cat and the mouse could build a way to make amends
Buddies who live together as friends
Keep that old cat and mouse game going, again and again
