Marc Gerrard Comox Valley As far back as he can remember, Marc Gerrard has been drawn to music. Born in Southport, England, he grew up immersed in a culture where music was always present — shaping the way he listened, connected, and experienced the world around him. What began with britpop, indie, funk, and soul eventually led him into electronic music during several formative years spent living in Amsterdam, where late nights at Paradiso and exposure to European DJ culture completely changed the way he understood sound and the dancefloor. Since then, his approach as a DJ has been rooted less in genre and more in feeling — blending the organic with the electronic, moving between styles, and letting sets unfold patiently and naturally over time. Over the years Marc has become a familiar presence within the underground music community on Vancouver Island through his DJ sets, curation, and events. He is a founding member of Abstract Audio, a collective focused on high-fidelity sound, long-form storytelling, and immersive dancefloor experiences. He also runs DE Radio, an online radio platform dedicated to deep selections and independent artists. Beyond the dancefloor, Marc has helped build and curate spaces for electronic music through the second stage at Remember Festival and the electronic music stage at the Woodstove Festival in Cumberland. He is also a resident with Liminal Spaces, a series produced by Lovefest Productions focused on deeper, immersive musical experiences. Whether playing extended sets or creating environments for others to gather around music, Marc’s focus has always remained the same: creating moments where people can lose themselves in sound, connect through movement, and experience something honest together on the dancefloor.
