Bio:
Maltitz lives as a DJ, producer and musician in Berlin. He is known for his eclectic style and brings together influences from Italo Disco, Indie Dance, House & Wave in his DJ sets, which is also reflected in his diverse art of music production. Maltitz's energetic DJ sets thrive on the dynamic atmosphere, characterized by diverse genre excursions and rapid tempo changes. He surprises with the mixture of humor, sex appeal and the right selection for the night and always looks for the emotional connection to the audience. He is a well-known DJ in the Berlin club scene and plays in venues such as the Funkhaus (porcelain bar), Salon - zur Wilden Renate, //about:blank, Golden Gate, Æden, Ipse, Paloma Bar and Sisyphos. As an experienced DJ, he has been a guest at the Wilde Möhre and the Feel Festival. He also gained a reputation outside of Berlin and played in clubs in cities such as Frankfurt, Hamburg, Kassel or Dresden. In the local PAL club in Hamburg he plays alongside with stage luminaries like Boris, FJAAK, Sedef Adasi, Héctor Oaks or Spencer Parker, whereby his universally known closing sets can last up to six hours. As a producer, Maltitz combines the sound worlds of various sub-genres of electronic dance music. He has been curating his own label Rurutu since 2018, underscoring his extensive repertoire. In 2019 he released the spherical-esoteric melodic house EP Hippie Seance on Perce records with an outstanding remix by Jepe. In the same year the Snatch Block EP on Berlin's legendary Golden Gate Club Records came out and as reference points he used moderate Detroit techno and deep house. Going back to his Deep/Dub House influences, he also produced the track Verde for CLÆP VISIONS Rec. V/A CLÆP THAT Vol.1 in a similarly deep atmosphere. In 2020 he will continue to devote himself to Rurutu Rec. In 2021 the EP Ingenious Undercover Investigation came out on the Midnight Operators label and received critical acclaim. This shows his retro-futuristic approach, which is inspired by Italo Disco and Dark Electro. The track Hydraulis on the compilation Italo Moderni - Modernation Vol.2, as well as his Cape Galaxias EP on Dantze Rec. once again shows his diverse musical approach and further affirm his origins in Italo Disco. Maltitz celebrates considerable success with the remix contribution for the track by Kinsuby - Wasuremono and with the exceptional producer Max Joni from Obsolet Rec., who created the two singles Coconut Kiss and Climax, which both moved up straight into the Beatport Top 100 charts.
