Rhymes and Charms for Fly-Away Things 5mins by MakingMusicUK published on 2012/03/07 16:11:15 +0000 'Rhymes and Charms for Fly-Away Things', performed by the John Powell Singers, was written by Kerry Andrew for amateur choirs. It is scored for soprano, alto, tenor and bass (SATB) with keyboard accompaniment. It is around 15 minutes long, split into 5 separate songs. At the 2010 British Composer Awards, the Making Music Award was won by Kerry Andrew for Fall, her choral setting of a poem by Robin Robertson, commissioned by the Joyful Company of Singers. Making Music then worked with the Music Publishers Association to commission her to write a new work to be performed by Making Music choirs. We would like to encourage groups to include the piece in their programmes if possible. It is free to perform, for Making Music members.
