Magnofon Harry Towell Peterborough Magnofon is British producer Harry Towell, who also records experimental music as Spheruleus and runs the Ambient label Whitelabrecs. Harry has almost twenty years of music-making experience but his main focus has been running small records over the last decade. He got into House music whilst in his teens, building a collection of vinyl and eventually playing out in bars and clubs. His time spent as a DJ peaked around 2007, when he played alongside the likes of Fred Everything, Nathan Coles, Inland Knights, JT Donaldson, The Littlemen, Da Sunlounge and DIY. Shortly after, a change in circumstances meant that DJing had to be sidelined and that is when he began to create ambient music. He launched the now defunct House and Techno label Warehouse Decay in 2012 which provided a space for some of his own material. By 2016 Harry stopped running the label and his last release was the ‘Lax EP’ on Dutch label Art Nouveau Records. During the pandemic of early 2020, Harry found himself at home and used this extra time to work on producing House music again. Alongside his brother Stuart, a guitarist, he has produced a two track EP called ‘Flights’ which is currently unsigned.
