Fans of MagicalMinx have asked the meaning of the band's name. I know. Seems fairly straight-forward; not cryptic. But, for those still challenged by the
unknowable and unknown, here goes. magic is magic. and, minx is a clever individual-- be it a cat, a girl- yeah, even a guy.
So, noodle it!
FAQ's: (well, not THAT frequently)
Did you sell all of your belongings to buy a van for your first tour?
No. But, we did sell one of our sax players for a tidy sum, which allowed us to place a sizeable down payment on the van.
Did you start playing the ukulele because you found a pink one at a yard sale?
No, again. Though one member of our group who did play the uke (and accordian), has since gone on to achieve notoriety as both a Wall Street financier, and a pink fetishist. Who knew?
Did you grow up listening to your grandmother's Elvis records?
Admittedly, we all might have reached greater social acceptance and financial independence (hard to imagine, unless we all played the uke & accordian- but, then we would never have known Mr. Pink!) had we obeyed those unceasing parental reminders to "listen!". However, having quickly recognized their admonishments as self-serving, and not directed toward our benefit as much as to the amelioration of tensions existent between we and they- such was unheeded. In an oblique, yet, corollary manner (figure that one out!)- and, perhaps resultant therefrom, it has been noted that many members of MagicalMinx are completely lacking in maturity, and therefore have yet to... grow up. But, Elvis is totally...totally- coool.

MagicalMinx was born when the musical paths of longtime friends and relations merged (magically) into a flow of cohesive ideas and sounds. Drawing upon the legendary artistry of R&B, Blues, Soul, Country, and Jazz musicians and vocalists-- MagicalMinx blends these seemingly disparate genres into their own unique styling, which they cleverly term: "CoTown"
