mac hertz Mac Hertz Lille BIO # Electronic music My club culture and my attraction to the night culture developed quite late as I never went to any rave or free party when I was younger. For now, if electronic music attracts me so much it is because, as a composer, it brings me a wide space for creativity. And I could not find such space with traditional instruments. Despite the fact I started music by learning how to play the guitar, my art studies allowed me to develop my inquisitiveness and led me to be highly interested in the creation of sounds and the process of it. # Live Music Because of this background, I never thought about mixing at first. I never felt the urge at that point. Nevertheless, I have always felt the need to share some interaction with the public. This is why I developed my first live set with my own tracks. I always look for each of my live performances to evolve thanks to the space I leave for impro. The repetitive nature of techno is so to speak the generator to this spontaneity. For some performances, I collaborate with a VJ called Sodom Eye from the duet Men in China (please watch the video enclosed). This collaboration with this VJ brings a visual dimension to my music. # My associative activity Together with all this creative work, I participated in the setting up of the association M2S in Strasbourg, with some friends who are also very involved in electronic music. Through this organisation, we organise parties by inviting international artists from various backgrounds and influences such as Dj Hell, Ben Klock, Dj Emerson, Terence Fixmer, Clockwork, Traumer, for example.
