Lying Figures Lying Figures Nancy Lying Figures is a doom/death band. Formed in 2012 in Nancy. Sometimes melodic, sometimes brutal but always heavy and ponderous, the music of Lying Figures is as much influenced by music as cinema or tortured literature. From Saturnus to Katatonia, from David Lynch to John Carpenter, from Edgar Allan Poe to Lovecraft passing by Silent Hill or Le Pays des Merveilles, the group deploys a universe where madness and melancholy. After a first demo 'From nowhere to nothing' in 2013, followed by an Ep 'A world of my own' in 2014, the group enters the Studios de la Forge for the recording of their first album 'The Abstract Escape' under the leadership of Pierre Schaffner (Phazm, Mortuary, Wheelfall, Pillars, Warfaith...) and signed with Rain Without End Records (Naturmacht Productions) for a May release 2017. Lying Figures is also a live band that crosses French borders (Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland) having already shared the bill with influential groups on the international scene (Ahab, Blue Hour Ghosts, Doomed, Evadne, Funeralium, Goatess, Igorrr, Funeral March, October Tide, Swallow The Sun…).
