LUVCAST 011: SPACE ECHO by Luv Shack Records

In the year 1973, electronic instrument manufacturer Roland introduced the RE-201 tape delay. This machine became a highly sought after fx unit and is still playing a substancial role in many modern studios, however it is better known by the name ‘Space Echo’.

When Luv Shack’s Lee Stevens sat down with fellow Austrian producer caTekk, and – after a long dialogue about music, life and reverb effects – they decided to team up in the studio, it came as no surprise they chose the name of this very effects unit for their project. Their focus is all on modern day dance music, yet ‘Space Echo’ share a very distinct passion for the different musical origins of what we now call house, dance or nu-disco which always comes into play in their productions.

For LUVCAST 011, Lee Stevens and caTekk have cooked up a brilliant ‘Space Echo’ mix, which takes us from tough uk house to high brow scandinavian neo-disco with perfect ease. Space Echo’s ‘Soul Power’ (LUV011) included!
