Luna Jay Lana Ober San Luis Obispo The Luna Jay persona stems from a musical obsession at ten years old thanks to DOS and Windows 3.1 music composition software and the catchy theme songs of PC adventure games. The psy/goa act Astral Projection and The Crystal Method in 1998 provided influence, and a 2006 London visit introduced a genuine club scene and Drum & Bass, birthing an ambition to spread the good feels as a DJ. Networks and support grew at home in San Luis Obispo after spinning at house parties. Gigs began in online radio, then downtown at Mo|Tav with DJs Mikey Lion and Jake Is. and at Native Lounge, The Library and all around the county. A new sound of heavier, rock-inspired electro, tech and breakbeats took form after playing with minimal, drum & bass and trance. Luna has had the privilege of opening for Ron Reeser, Loli Lux, Kristina Sky, and provided a vocal collaboration with local DJ/producer Audiobit. She continues to experiment with all types of underground electronic music with an ever-evolving sound.
