Lucas Botán, a.k.a. Lukas Tremens, is a techno and acid DJ originally from Córdoba, Argentina; now based in Valencia, Spain.
Although he always had a particular affection for techno and acid, his passion for these genres intensified after living in the North-East of the US. His International background can clearly be perceived in his sets, despite a special focus on the Chicago and Detroit sounds.
In 1997, he purchased his first set of turntables. Ever since then, a significant part of his life has been dedicated to music. In 2015 however, after relocating to Spain, Lucas decided to go 100% pro by giving up his side careers and make a living exclusively off of music. This is when he decided to begin performing under his current stage name of Lukas Tremens.
During his debuts in Argentina, he rapidly made his path into well respected nightclubs, such as El Ojo Bizarro, Era Groove House, Rinza Club, Zen Disco, etc., where he starred under his birth name of Lucas Botán. In Spain, despite having relaunched his musical career very recently, he has already earned the privilege to play in such mythical events as Happy Mondays, the HC Room (Hypnotica Colectiva), the Black Room (Orgasmus Underground), etc. You can usually hear him play at the MiniClub, and occasionally at El Asesisno and the Killing Time.
Technically, Lukas Tremens can be considered an “old school DJ”. Most of his sets are played exclusively on vinyls, although he also has a wide array of music available on CDs, so as to adapt to local venues' amenities. His reputation has been fortified by his reliability and professionalism. This has also enabled him to play with many well-known local and International artists, such as Andrés González, Franco Cinelli, Nicón (now a.k.a. Shall Ocin), Carlos Delgado, David Verdeguer, Raszia, Pablo Arquiola and Thorazine, to name a few.
But what really makes his performances stand out is a merciless selection of the songs he plays - only the best of the best!
