Lucy Armstrong London Lucy Armstrong is currently a Fellow of Composition at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She studied at the Royal Northern College of Music under Adam Gorb and Gary Carpenter and at the Guildhall with Julian Philips. Psappha Ensemble commissioned Lucy to write their first piece in honour of former patron, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, and the resulting piece “The Executioner’s Pond” was premiered in March 2019. Lucy was commissioned by Bergen National Opera to write the chamber opera, Nadja’s Song, which was premiered in Bergen and subsequently performed at the Tête à Tête Opera Festival in London and in Bogotá, Colombia. Other recent commissions include: Psappha, Size Zero Opera, The Borealis Saxophone Quartet, The Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, RNCM Engage, The Meon Valley Orchestra, John Miller’s Brazmataz, A4 Brass and Music Theatre Bristol.
