Lore Amenabar Larrañaga Lore Amenabar Larrañaga San Sebastian Lore Amenabar, born in 1995, started studying accordion at the age of eight and in 2009 she proceeded her studies in 'Francisco Escudero Conservatoire of San Sebastian' with Salvador Parada. She has completed both her Bachelor and Master studies at the Sibelius Academy, the University of the Arts Helsinki, with professors Matti Rantanen, Mika Väyrynen and Veli Kujala; and she has also taken part in courses directed by T. Anzelotti, A. Artemyev, A. L Castaño, G. Draugsvoll and J. Mozo-Colmenero. At the present time, she is pursuing her Doctoral degree from the Royal Academy of Music, in London. During her study years, Lore has obtained many important prizes in both national and international competitions: 'Arrasate Accordion Competition' in the Children, Junior and Senior categories, first prize in the 'Youth Basque Musicians' multi-instrumental competition, as a soloist, as well as in chamber music; fourth prize in the international 'Klingenthal Accordion Competition' in 2015 and first prize in 'Jeunesses Musicales Spain' (Juventudes Musicales de España) multi-instrumental competition, in 2016. Finally, in 2017 she won third prize in 'Arrasate Hiria International Competition'. Despite her youth, Amenabar has offered many concerts, having the opportunity to premiere many works. She did the Premier of Helsinki of the piece 'Niin kauan minä trampaan' by Paavo Korpijaakko with the Helsinki Philarmonic string quartet and she has also premiered Matti Murto's 'Finnish Suite' in the renowned Sata-Häme Soi Festival, in Ikaalinen. She has also taken part in different projects, such as the CD recording of Francisco Escudero's 'Fantasía Geosinfónica', conducted by Iñaki Alberdi.
