The Case of Charles Dexter Ward by Lorenzo Miniero

A song inspired by "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward", the first novel I ever read by Lovecraft. Musically speaking, my main inspiration were old "lovecraftian" songs by Metallica, like Call of Ktulu, The Thing that should not be, or The house that Jack built (which is not based on Lovecraft works, but always gave me the same vibe). The pattern is similar to other songs I wrote: creepy intro and crescendo, heavier continuation. I tried to experiment a bit more with solos instead this time, with more focus on vibe than technique.

As usual, everything was written and recorded using open source and free tools: Ardour, MuseScore, Hydrogen/DrumGizmo (MuldjordKit), Calf, DragonFly Reverb, Virtual Playing Orchestra and others. All guitars were recorded using my POD X3 Live instead.
