Historically the Spanish colonizers of South America referred to the Mapuche people as Araucanians (araucanos). However, this term is now considered pejorative by some people. The name was likely derived from the placename 'rag ko' (Spanish Arauco), meaning "clayey water" but others track its origin to the Quechua word 'Awqa', meaning "rebel, enemy".

This is music for the hybridation of the ancestral mapuche resistance against colonial violence that is being held since the day america was unveiled for european interents and that is sustained until these days. A form of historical attitude that has been tried to eradicate from the memory of everyone. They didn't teach me that in school.

Thie riddim is inspired by the musical structure played by a classic type of street musician very popular in chile and argentina. the chinchinero uses only a modified type of bass drum that also carries a hi-hat that is activated by a rope connected to one feet. with these elements he creates an spectacle that is a combination of high speed rhythmic patterns and the choreographic movements required to create these sounds. Its frenetic and also is like a skill that is transmitted to family members so its usual to see a chinchinero accompanied by a mini-chinchinero with a small drum, learning the tricks to build this riddim that is repeated for generations, like an activation mantra for the city
