I have a cluster of 3 servers with 2 RDSH servers in the cluster and a controller server. When I go into RD Licensing Diagnoser for RDSH and activate the RDSH server, I get an error message stating that the license has already been issued. I need some advice, I have a there server at work and I am having a problem configuring the licensing of the RDS servers(the remote desktop server). I can not find any place or website that describe the steps to get the RDSlicense server running. I have the everything intalled except the RDS license server. When I try to start the rds.exe I get an error message " The client software failed to initialize, this may be because the remote access service is turned off or not installed" can someone help? An administrator has asked for some clarification on the password requirements that relate to the RD License Server. The answer to this is to be found in the documentation provided by Microsoft. Specifically the installation of the RDS CAL can be controlled via the License Server dashboard. The Licenses section of the dashboard will list all the License Servers on the network. Any RDSH servers installed on the network will have a dashboard with some information specific to the licenses available on that server. All licenses purchased for RDS licenses can be found here. Any licenses purchased per machine should never exceed the limitations allowed by the current subscription. Any licenses purchased as part of an RDSH/RDS CAL should never exceed the subscription limits as this is a consumption based license and this is how licensed CALs are employed by clients. I have a problem: on a system that has RDS installed, the licenses are not displayed on the remote desktop. So I installed new licenses (5 on domain UT (enterprise)).
