Sandra McCracken - live performance by Lightning100 published on 2014/06/19 20:17:13 +0000 Sandra McCracken stopped by the Lightning 100 studio before performing at the Thistle Farms benefit concert series Thistle Thursday. Raising money for Thistle Stop Cafe. From http://www.thistlestopcafe.org/ The Thistle Stop Café welcomes you as a part of the community of Thistle Farms and Magdalene, and everything we do is offered with that intention. Chado means the way of tea that creates harmony, tranquility, and demonstrates the simple truth that love heals. The Café is a tangible sign of the deeper meaning of healing and the honor of serving. The old teacups you see were party of a year-long project to collect tea cups and stories from around the world. The 150-year-old floor is from Al Gore Sr’s tobacco warehouse. More than 100 volunteers supplied all the walls, deck, furnishings, and cabinetry. We hope that when you leave, you feel inspired to share this story of generosity. The story of the women who have survived lives of trafficking, addiction, prostitution, and life on the streets is powerful. It reminds us that the universal truths of violence against women, born on individual backs, is still a story of hope and the truth that in the end love is the most powerful force for social change. The Thistle Stop Café honors that story. It can be a hard and lonely world. Come to the café whenever you are thirsty for tea, coffee, and a good story. This is a space for all who thirst for justice. For information on booking Thistle Stop Cafe for your bridal or baby shower, Afternoon Tea or private event, contact email@example.com.
