lightcraft harbour the hopes and dreams of four men from Jakarta, Indonesia – the collective embodiment of their pluckiness and determination. Uniquely narrating the energy and spirit of humanity, their trademark arena-ready anthemic indie-rock sound – drawing inspiration from the very best of the likes of Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Sigur Rós, Doves, Mew, and more – feature a heightened sense of melodrama that can be heard from their lyrics and felt from each and every note that they produce.
Simple humanist themes such as the emotional bond of friendship, life-changing moments and global phenomena such as worldwide immigration are candidly described throughout their music – an achievement unto itself accomplished through inspiring sheer dedication.
First formed in 2005 when original members Imam, Fari, and Enrico were still university students in Malaysia – drummer Yopi joined the band in 2012 – the band have a number of releases under their belt, including the EPs "The Modern Seasons" (2006) and "Another Life" (2016), as well as full-albums "Losing Northern Lights" (2008) and "Colours Of Joy" (2014). In 2015, “Love Songs & Lullabies” – an anthology cassette featuring songs from their first three releases – was released by Nanaba Records. A split mini CD with New Jersey-based indie-rock band Wyland called “Kindred Spirits” was launched in September 2016.
Three years after their last release, they finally unleashed their groundbreaking third full album “Us Is All” in February 2019. Produced by Firzi O (Matajiwa, Sentimental Moods, Zeke And The Popo) at Studio Masak Suara in Jakarta, the album consists of eleven brand-new powerful, cinematic songs, featuring the singles “Walk On Fire”, “Home (feat Ananda Badudu)”, “…And The Morning Comes Too Soon (feat Neonomora)”, “Into The Wild (feat Ryan Sloan)”, and “Bones”.
The concept behind “Us Is All” highlights the beauty of diversity, aiming to inspire hope in its listeners that a better future lies ahead if the human race were to unite. The album features collaborations with both local and international names, including Indonesian singer/songwriter Neonomora, Ananda Badudu from the now-defunct Indonesian folk-pop duo Banda Neira, New Jersey indie rockers Wyland’s vocalist Ryan Sloan, and multi-instrumentalist Rivellino Ismaya on accordion.
Since it was released, “Us Is All” has made waves both home and abroad, its singles featuring in the most prominent playlists on Spotify, JOOX, and Apple Music in Indonesia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the US, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines.
