Lex Cole is a 21 year old singer, songwriter and performer from Yonkers, New York. She has just graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where she is a Vocal Performance Major.
Lex has been singing since she was five years old and writing songs since the age of 13. Between the ages of 8 and 17, she studied with vocal coach Joan Tyler who opened up many opportunities for her. Ms. Tyler first brought Alexis to perform at clubs in Manhattan at the age of 10. She has performed at a number of venues in New York City including Crash Mansion, The Bitter End, The Village Underground, Dillons Cabaret, Triads, Arthur’s Tavern in Greenwich Village and The Cutting Room, where she was accompanied by John Stamos on drums and Richie Cannata, Billy Joel’s former sax player.
Since the age of 11, Alexis has competed in numerous singing competitions around the New York Tri-State area. She holds the titles of Yonkers Idol 2012, Westchester Teen Idol 2010, and the first Yonkers Jr. Idol in 2008, just to name a few. She has also performed throughout Westchester County, New York, at street fairs, memorial shows, and multiple benefits over the years.
Alexis has been lucky enough to perform during half time at a New York Knicks basketball game at Madison Square Garden as well as performing background vocals with a choir for Susan Boyle on The Today Show, at the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting, and on the Larry King show.
Before going to Berklee, Alexis studied voice with Marlon Saunders at Nola Studios in Manhattan, New York. Additionally, she released an EP of 6 original songs available on iTunes & Soundcloud, produced by Lisa Ratner at Traxfast Music Studios.
As part of her Berklee experience, Lexi has been lucky enough to take advantage of several opportunities resulting in participating in some life changing shows. During her first semester, she was a part of Groovalicious and in her second semester she was chosen to be in Singer’s Night and the Divas Ensemble. She continued to perform with the Divas in her third semester and also put on and performed in the Caf show opening up for Brian McKnight. During Lexi’s third semester, she was asked to be part of the Neo Soul Ensemble, which opened the Marvin Gaye tribute in the Berklee Performance Center. She also performed background vocals for Aloe Blacc, Bilal, & Chris Turner during the tribute. Lexi is currently in her fourth semester where she is taking part in three additional Caf shows, one of which is the Divas.
Towards the end of her third semester, Lexi signed with a small independent label and has started recording music to release an album! She is excited to see where this takes her and her music as well as continuing with her learning at Berklee College of Music.
