LEVANTE CALMA Leaving the British music scene behind and moving back to Austria drummer David Hippel put together this band of long term friends and experienced music professionals in summer 2019. Based in southern Austria between Mozart's birthplace in Salzburg and Mahler's composing-hideaway in Carinthia Levante Calma are playing instrumental music somewhere in between Blue Funk, Acid and Soul Jazz, and Afrobeat - a fine mixture they like to call "soulful killer groove Jazz". Levante Calma like riding the groove to the limit. No matter whether the track is an original or a reimagined song from another genre. Somehow Levante Calma's music serves as well as background music as it works on a big stage - always making it hard to keep your feet from moving though.
