They have spent the last two years amassing an unquestionable presence in the consciousness of fans of their unique and ethereal, arctic-stung, indie rhapsodies. Their story began with the Six Wolves single release in late 2010 and slowly but surely LBH have been mastering their craft, the old fashioned way. Fast Fast (Produced by Frankie & The Heartstrings guitarist Mick Ross) was next up and it paved the way to their second successive Glastonbury festival booking. Let’s Buy Happiness have played support to both the estimable Temper Trap and the ever resplendent Frankie & The Heartstrings. Along with live dates of their own, the hard work has paid off with recognition from Radio 1 in the form of a coveted slot playing the Introducing stage at the 2011 Big Weekend (predecessors include Stornoway, Florence & the Machine and Bombay Bicycle Club), and Maida Vale Sessions for Huw Stephens at Radio 1, Tom Robinson at 6 Music and John Kennedy at Xfm. A period of song writing has produced some fantastic new material. Despite numerous demos being recorded and discarded, with each self-imposed rejection the five-piece found that their song-writing muscles were becoming lean and sinuous. Let’s Buy Happiness are finally ready to release the first fruits of that labour. Their forthcoming single Dirty Lakes is both a statement of intent and a platinum bound progression - a mature and focused leap forward in songwriting craft. Dirty Lakes is dark, happy, elegant, bright and youthful. It layers all of these motifs with intricate instrumentation and is accordingly a timeless classic-in-waiting. The fledgling North-Easterners have found their wings and are expecting to fly. Let’s Buy Happiness will release their debut album in early 2012.
