Le Stephane discovered a true passion for electronic music in 2011 and never looked back, tldr...
So what else is there to know?
His first mixtape was made on an iphone for a friend, and can still be accessed on his mixcloud account.
His first live set was made using that same phone, a boom box, outside the Elli Disco in Munich, in cold weather, on 30 minutes notice.
Then came the regular practice with an ipad in various public locations in Munich (Wittelsbacherbrücke, Gärtnerplatz, ...). Stephane would play and judge his success by how many people would stay longer to listen to the music.
Then came the semi-regular gigs in Cafe Cord, with the ipad.
Then came the first paid gig in Cafe Cord. *Insert applause, and lots of drinking here*. The ipad got lost that same night.
The next week, Stephane bought the DJ equipment from Yaniv Tal (Die Bank), and still uses his X1 Mk1 to this day.
Then came the regular Sundays playing in Die Bank. This is where Stephane could practice the real thing, on a real mixer, with the support of a real mentor (Yaniv)
Then came the regular Gigs during the week(-ends) in Die Bank, and the semi-regular gigs in Konsulat and Aksnibuk.
All the while, Stephane visited Berlin monthly, and felt the attraction of a city that bursts at the seams with electronic music energy (read: party hard).
Stephane moved to Berlin to March 2013, without much of a plan, or apartment for that matter (read: impulsive, chaotic decision to make a new start).
Apart from a gig in Intersoup, the occasional private party in Mauersegler, and afterhours with friends, Stephane stayed mostly under the radar (read: was too weak from neglecting his health)
Then his health improved in early 2015.
Then Rüsseltierchenkäfer hatched (facebook.com/ruesseltierchenkaefer).
Then came the first open-air party of Rüsseltierchenkäfer in Schöneweide.
Then came the second party of Rüsseltierchenkäfer in ZKU.
Then came the third party of Rüsseltierchenkäfer in Deckshaus.
Thanks to support from his closest fans, Stephane applied to a handful of music festivals for 2016.
The journey has only just started...
All the while, Stephane was a paying user on SoundCloud, which could take down uploaded DJ sets at any moment, and he uploaded (too many?) sets there.
Today, Stephane uses Mixcloud, which only accepts DJ sets, has first-class support for tracklists detection, and compensates the artists based on play count.
Stephane's music selection strives to stir crowds emotionally using the space between tracks, where transitions occur.
There are hints of funk and disco influence, which infused his youth.
But above all, Stephane spreads love with music, which he knows how to do much better than with words.
