Leonore is the brain child of the Brussels singer Chloë Nols. Inspired by the clutter and white noise in her city, Chloë creates a sound that balances between acoustic indie pop and ambient soundscapes. In her poetic lyrics she capitalizes on discovering her true self, knowing she might never find it.
Leonore has worked with Hannelore Bedert, Thomas Vanelslander (Gorki, Arno), Filip Tanghe (Balthazar) en Tim Augustynen (Black Box Revelation, Steak Number Eight), and has played at venues and festivals such as Ancienne Belgique, Botanique, Vooruit, De Roma, Trix, STUK, Het Depot, Rotown, Mezz, Muziekgieterij, Gentse Feesten, Boomtown, Brussels Summer Festival, Stoemp!, Zinnema, VOLTA, AFF, Labadoux and Beautés Soniques.
Leonore's songs ‘The Island’, ‘Brussels’ and ‘Jezebel’ had airplay on national radio stations Studio Brussel, Radio 1 and La Première.
The band consists of Chloë Nols, Kobe Dupont (Geppetto & The Whales), Tim Caramin (Glints), Lenny Steigerwald (Aligaga) and Louise van den Heuvel (Small Medium). They are currently working on their new album ( 2021).
"Chloë Nols creates beautiful melodies, in which light and darkness alternate (…) Her talent, and that of her companions, is undeniable. Her train ticket to Destination Future burns inside her pocket, and believe me when I say that we all want to travel with her." (Knack Focus)
"Vulnerable and fragile, but never a wallflower." (De Morgen)
"Chloë Nols touches you and grabs you softly by the throat. A special talent." (OOR)
"Sometimes you just feel: yes, with this kind of pure songs one can only convince the audience. And you just ask yourself: why don’t we all embrace Leonore?" (Kurt Overbergh, artistic director at Ancienne Belgique).
"Her band supports her excellent voice, that sounds even more pure live than on the album. The young singer from Brussels seems liberated and her voice opens up with a controlled, disconcerting ease (…) We’d love to see her grow in the future." (RTBF Culture)
"This soft pop, which is more or less intimate, always offers something complex in a sweet and devoted way." (Le Soir)
"Leonore shows her love for refined arrangements and her feeling for melodies. This music is intimate and covered with spleen, and thus an album of the season." (Moustique)
