White Lie hails from Sweden but started DJing in Berlin, by pure coincidence, in late 2014. What started out as an experiment, and a cheeky way to poke fun at Berlin's male-dominated techno scene, quickly took a serious turn when Emma began to collect records, throw parties, and get a deeper understanding of DJ culture.
White Lie’s vinyl collection now ranges from disco and boogie to soul, jazz to worldmusic, via broken beat, wave, synth pop, house, and beyond, and she is determined to keep it bright and soulful. True to her digger vibe, she has appeared on stations like Rinse France, Hotel Radio Paris and Le Mellotron, where she regularly shares her warmest finds. However, her talent fully reveals itself on the dance floor where, always trusting her gut, she lets herself be driven by impulse and associations.
In addition to having brought her energy to numerous Berlin bars, White Lie has played in renowned clubs such as OHM, Griessmuhle, Sameheads, About Blank, and Prince Charles. Constantly demonstrating her diversity in taste and style, she’s recently played gigs in Paris, Copenhagen, Bucharest, Gothenburg, and Stockholm.
Emma is also the curator of Dear Dancers Disco Club, an event series booking international female-identified DJ's to play disco oriented sets (with a stretch) at Sameheads, Berlin.
