If we go back 7 years before this all begun,
you'd see the life I was living wasn't considered fun,
you'd see the decisions I made most considered dumb,
so I took into consideration that there's only some,
that can make it out alive when your living on the streets,
push the brakes on your life when your give into defeat,
so you ache to survive when your wishing to retreat,
back home to your life on a mission to replete.
So I dialed the number on my cellular phone,
Called my mother to see if I could move back home,
Given another chance but the damage was done,
I admit that I was stupid I couldn't manage the drugs.
I had to move to my dads for him to show me the light,
For all that was bad I was then taught what was right,
Even though I was sad, still brought a smile at night,
That’s why I wrote you this rap, which I thought you might like.
Mum drove me to my dads for him to slap me in the mouth,
but it was what was needed to smack some sense in me about,
the fact I had travelled a road I was told not to go down,
so I was to live there to straighten myself or get out!
The number of chances you get, I will never forget,
the look I saw on my mums face, that look of regret,
I was upset to say the least wishing I could reset,
go back & detect before my mother came to neglect.
There were some changes to make as hard as they may be,
had to stop the weed, cigarettes, pills and speed,
I stopped living like a bum and started listening to beats,
listening to the teachers teaching me there's more to be.
wishing to reach out to a million that want to listen to me,
giving to each who are forgiving and dismissing the grief.
