Las Vegas
Born in the buckle of the 'Bible-belt' and now calling 'Sin City' their home, Leaving Springfield is a band that draws comparisons to Weezer, Fountains of Wayne, and Social Distortion. Proudly wearing their influences on their sleeves, Leaving Springfield brings a sonic wall of big drums, loud guitars, and lyrics that are tormented, twisted, and usually with tongue planted firmly in cheek.
With three EP's and four full-length CD's released in the short span of eight years, Matt Norcross (drums, keyboards, vocals) and Brent 'BK' Kessler (guitar, bass, vocals) have established themselves as a songwriting tour-de-force, and their live performances will leave you wondering how two people can make that much sound.
Leaving Springfield has shared the stage with such national acts as Steel Panther, Cowboy Mouth, The Helio Sequence, Enuff Z' Nuff, Kottonmouth Kings, Pepper,The Start, Reverend Horton Heat, Berlin, Nerf Herder, Steppenwolf, The Supersuckers, Gilby Clarke, Dramarama, Har Mar Superstar, Lizzo, The Pizza Underground, The Single Mothers, Sponge and Ron Bumblefoot.
Their music is in rotation on Las Vegas radio stations KOMP 92.3 and Xtreme Radio 107.5. They have also had their music played on "American Weeds" on NatGeo. Leaving Springfield was also featured on the PBS show "Vegas In Tune." The band’s song "Johnny Sunshine" appeared on the Smash Magazine compilation "Viva Rock Vegas" , they were one of 4 unsigned bands to appear on the CD that also contained songs by signed artists such as The Higher, Escape the Fate and The Cab.
